Entitled “Fair, Local, Democratic – Green” the document sets out the priorities of Scottish Green Councillors once elected, and highlights the success of sitting Green Councillors across the country. Highland Council has never had a Scottish Green Councillor before, but the party are hoping that their positive message and unwavering focus on local issues will see that change.
Leading Highland Green, Pippa Hadley, said:
“I’m proud to be standing as a Scottish Green in this election, and I know that our positions on a range of local issues as set out in our manifesto will be well received. In particular I will be fighting for more locally available, affordable housing across the Highlands.”
“In my own Badenoch and Strathspey Ward the housing crisis has become increasingly obvious as our National Park status has driven house and rental costs ever higher, so our policies to tackle these issues are needed now more than ever.”
“A small, but strong and constructive group of Green Councillors with a bold vision would make a huge difference to communities right across the Highlands, and I hope voters will give us the opportunity to be their voice.”
