Green MSP John Finnie’s new parliamentary office in Inverness’s famous Victorian Market has opened for business, with a warm welcome for constituents.
Visitors are welcome at the Highlands and Islands MSP’s new premises at 16/22 Market Hall, formerly the Model Shop.
Mr Finnie was previously based in an upstairs office a short distance away in Station Square, and hopes the new shopfront location will make it easier than ever for local people to access his help.
Speaking about the move, Mr Finnie said:
“I am delighted to have been able to secure space in this iconic city centre location. There can be few locals who don’t know ‘the Market.’
“This is a public-facing office where we seek to make Scottish Parliamentary assistance readily available to constituents.
“In addition to normal office hours, I intend holding regular surgeries on Saturdays when many travel from across the north to Inverness for shopping and it’s my earnest hope that many will take the opportunity to ‘shop local,’ with the many wonderful small retailers who are my neighbours in the Market.
“The challenge of serving the Highlands and Islands is huge so, of course, I will still be out and about across the region meeting folk and I’ll continue to use social media to help those with problems.
“A warm welcome from my excellent caseworker Linda awaits anyone requiring assistance.”
As well as visiting the office, constituents can contact Mr Finnie by phone at 01463 710 194 by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by post.
